Opportunity Scholarship

Families and Friends of Community Christian School (CCS):

In November House Bill 10 (HB10) was signed into law.  As a result, numerous families around the state received notification of a scholarship award based on applications that were submitted to the North Carolina Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) during the February 2024 window.  The increased funding has generated a variety of scenarios that require discussion.

I am writing now to give you a quick update and to share steps as CCS moves forward with this information.      In the next week, Administration will hold meetings with the intent of determining how we will proceed with the information we have in hand.  This work will be done with NCSEAA deadlines in mind.  

Our goals are: 1) The establishment of an official position by CCS regarding the implications and possibilities of HB10; 2) Development of financial policies to guide our practices for new scholarship recipients; 3) Communication of these policies and practices, coupled with procedures and/or next steps for CCS families.  

It is our intention to have this information available to our families next week.  We ask for your prayers for wisdom and thank you for your patience in this matter.
